Will it turn me orange?
No. Orange skin comes from taking a big dose of beta-carotene on its own. We do not do that.
Zephyrian uses three carotenoids that balance each other out. Astaxanthin brings red undertones, lycopene brings surface warmth, and a supporting dose of beta-carotene adds golden balance. The result is a believable tone, not a costume.
How long until I see results?
Carotenoids build up in your skin slowly, so this is a gradual change and not an overnight one. Most people follow the same arc.
- Week 1 to 3. The first signs. Skin often looks a little warmer, especially in indoor light.
- Week 4 to 8. Other people start to notice. This is when you get "have you been away?"
- Week 8 to 12. Full saturation. The change is clear in the mirror.

As someone with fair skin who tans slowly (and burns easily), I was curious but skeptical about trying a tanning supplement. After using Zephyrian for about three weeks, I’m pleasantly surprised by the results.

I have a very slight impression it finally starts to work…although I have to say I’m far from tanned yet. Any advice on how to improve the effect? Since about 3 weeks I’m taking 2 capsules day…
Important update 12-05-2025!
In my last review I wrote that I was rather sceptical, because, after taking the capsule about 3 weeks (even up to 2/day), I still didn’t see much result.
So, I wrote a message to the owner of the company (see underneath). To my surprise, he answered very fast and gave a lot of good advice.
Apparently, you need to take the capsule(s) with (animal!) fat (they are fat soluble) such as meat containing fat (meatballs), but also fat yoghurt and cheeses are off course excellent sources of these fats.
Personally I don’t eat much meat, but from that day, I started to eat full yoghurt or cheese in the morning, together with the pills ...and it really works!!!
So my advice in a nutshell: have patience and take the pills together with a source of (animal) fat. After a few weeks, I can assure you you will see the results.
To proof this, I’m attaching “for and after” shots from my face. These are true pics. I know there are already a lot of doubtful products out there, but this one really works, believe me!
Hey Sven! Peter – the founder of Zephyrian here. Thank you so much for the review and reporting on the results! It’s actually not unusual to still be waiting for the color to develop. Carotenoids take time to build up in the skin, and everyone’s body processes them at a different rate, some see a difference in a few weeks, some take longer.
In fact, I have one tip to speed up the results: the ingredients in the capsule are fat soluble, so they are better absorbed if eaten at the same time with fat. If you want to speed up the effect, take the capsules with the fattiest meal of your day (probably dinner or lunch for most people).
