Questions fair-skinned women ask us
Straight answers for anyone who has been the whitest person in the room her whole life. If yours is not here, email support@zephyrian.shop.
I am Irish, Scottish, or Nordic and I only burn. Will it work on me?
This is who we built it for.
Burning instead of tanning is about melanin, the pigment in a sun tan. Carotenoid color does not use melanin at all, so it works whether or not you can tan. You are not adding a tan, you are adding warmth. Very fair skin tends to show the change clearly, because there is less color there to start with.
Be realistic about the size of it. This is a warm, healthy, even tone, not a deep tan. Most people say it makes them look rested and well, not tanned. Customers tell us the “you look tired” comments are the first thing to go.
Will it look orange, or like fake tan?
No. Orange skin comes from taking a big dose of beta-carotene on its own. Cheap tanning pills do that because beta-carotene is the cheapest carotenoid. We do not.
Zephyrian uses three carotenoids that balance each other. Astaxanthin brings red undertones, lycopene brings surface warmth, and a supporting dose of beta-carotene adds golden balance. The result is a believable tone, not a costume.
And unlike fake tan, there is nothing on the surface. No streaks, no lines, no orange palms, no smell, nothing on your sheets. It is in your skin, not on it.
How long before someone notices?
It is gradual, not overnight. Most people follow the same arc.
- Week 1 to 3. The first signs. Skin may look a little warmer, easiest to spot in indoor light.
- Week 4 to 8. Other people notice before you do. This is when you get asked if you have been away.
- Week 8 to 12. Full result. The change is clear in the mirror.
Past 12 weeks with no change, we want to give you your money back. Take one softgel every day with a meal. Being consistent matters more than anything else.
Is this a magic pill? What if it does nothing?
No. It takes time to build up, and we say so. If nothing changes, you get your money back.
The guarantee lasts 150 days. Activate the guarantee in the Zephyrian app when your order arrives. Then take one softgel a day for 90 days and keep your photo record in the app. From day 90 to day 150 you can claim any time.
Fewer than 1% of customers ever use it. The 3-Month Results Kit is covered from day one, monthly plans from month 3. Full terms are on the guarantee page.
Why does it cost more than a cheap tanning pill?
Because of what is in the softgel.
95% of the world's astaxanthin is synthetic, made from petroleum to color farmed salmon. Your skin can barely absorb it. Ours comes from natural algae, the same algae wild salmon eat, and it cost us 9 times more. Lycopene costs several times more than beta-carotene. Cheap pills skip it and use beta-carotene alone. That is what turns people orange.
That is also why we can promise results and back it with a 150-day money-back guarantee. A cheap pill cannot. If you are comparing, compare the mg on the label.
Can I keep using self-tanner while it builds?
Yes. Self-tanner is a dye that sits on the surface of your skin. Zephyrian works from the inside, in the layer just under it. One does not block the other.
If you want to keep using it for the first month or two, go ahead. One tip: take your photos for the app in the same spot and the same light, on skin with no self-tanner on it, so you can see what is really yours. The customer in the ad was 10 weeks off fake tan when people started asking about her skin. By week 8 to 12, you can decide whether you still need the self-tanner.
What is in it? Exact doses please.
Per softgel:
- Lycopene 30mg, from tomato
- Astaxanthin 16mg, from Haematococcus pluvialis algae
- Beta-carotene 16mg, from Dunaliella salina algae
All three are naturally sourced. None is a synthetic copy made in a lab, and none comes from petroleum.
The carrier is coconut oil. Carotenoids are fat soluble, so your body can only take them in alongside fat. The oil is what gets them absorbed.
The shell is bovine gelatin, glycerin, and water. That is the whole formula. 28 softgels per pouch, one a day with a meal, 4 weeks. An outside lab, Mérieux NutriSciences, tested it for 14 substances, for safety and potency. Every batch is third-party tested for contaminants. Made in a facility that may process common allergens.
Is it safe to take every day?
Yes, one softgel a day with a meal.
All three ingredients are permitted in supplements in the US, the UK, and the EU. It is made in an FDA-registered, GMP-certified facility and third-party tested for purity and potency. There is no melanotan in it, no peptides, and no hormones.
Most people have no side effects. The one we hear of is mild stomach upset on an empty stomach, so take it with food.
The label says: Not intended for use by smokers. It is a food supplement, not a drug. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or take medication, ask your doctor first.
